HSBD provides disaster response planning for all businesses. HSBD takes a very pragmatic approach to ensure that a business's disaster plan is specifically tailored to their environment, their local hazards, the individuals involved or affected by the plan and also a plan that is understood and works. A risk analysis will be done or reviewed to identify to ranks the risks associated with maintaining "business as usual". Deliverables include a written plan, personal pocket guides, and training and follow up. Each plan will address the four cornerstones of Disaster Planning:
preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery.
Every business disaster plan must be complete and understood by the employees and be as pragmatic for the environment as possible.
Examples of specific plans include:
Patient surge plans - local catastrophe resulting in a large influx of patients, for example
Loss of utility plans -loss of normal routine power, for example
Natural disaster response plans -earthquake or tornado, for example
Security related incident - bomb threat or terrorist event, for example
Organization specific plans based on prior events which have disrupted normal operations
